But not all of your devices work with Gigabit speed? These compact Triple-speed media converters provide the perfect solution for you. Autosensing copper ports make them perfect for migrating networks from Ethernet to Fast Ethernet all the way to Gigabit Ethernet.
Use inexpensive CAT5e twisted-pair cable on the copper side. You never need to worry about what kind of cable to use. The Auto MDI/MDI-X automatically adapts to straight or cross pinned cables.
On the fibre end the speed is always 1000 Mbps Gigabit enabling long distance transmissions over 10, 40 or even 70 kilometers depending on the model. If you are short with fibres, choose the WDM models for a very economic use of fibre and high bandwidth. For WDM applications you need to order the media converts in complementary pairs i.e. combine a 1310TX/1550RX model on one end with an 1550TX/1310RX model on the other end.
Power the media converters three ways:
Simply through the included external 100-240VAC AC power supply. Or alternate you may also use the optional USB Power Adapter Cable (LHC021A), which plugs into a PCs USB port allowing quick Fibre-To-The-Desk installations. For growing networks use the optional 19" rack mount PowerTray. The PowerTray with included rack mount ears provides power for up to 18 converters in only 5U of rack space.
